Hey excellent blog! Does running a blog like this take a lot of work?

Have you ever noticed that a captive bug that is under restraint, or is being injured (like somebody burning them or ripping off their legs), squirms? To me, that doesn’t look like anything else but extreme discomfort (pain). And if you’re not sure whether or not they feel pain, why assume they don’t? And seriously, nobody who hasn’t studied bug brains, bug cells, bug chemicals, bug anything, has no right to say that a bug doesn’t feel pain, because you don’t know.
I’ve never taken any classes on insects or anything of the like. Just the casual Wikipedia page about a random insect or spider, so even I don’t know jack shit.. But, I still assume they feel pain because if I assumed that they don’t feel pain and burned a bunch of ants with a magnifying glass and then it turned out that they actually do feel pain, well then wow. I’d kinda feel like a dick.
Imagine if all of the insects you smashed, half-smashed then had to smash again, or shocked, actually felt all of it.

Surgeons back in the day used to say that babies don’t feel pain, or at least, they don’t feel pain the same way as adults and that they won’t remember it anyway. That crap has been proven wrong already. And that was believable in the 80′s!
