Rick Ross

While the whole baggy clothes on the morbidly obese thing is always kinda fascinating, all I could think about while staring at this pic was splitting the back of the sweatshirt & making a Champion snuggie.

Say it ain’t so!! AllHipHop is reporting that the glasses Rick Ross wore on the cover of XXL weren’t fake after all; Jacob Bernstein aka “The Sunglasses Pimp” customized an authentic pair of Louis Vuitton frames for the studio drug czar. Bernstein told the website:

It’s the same thing as buying a Rolls Royce and having it tricked out; just because the product has been customized by me doesn’t take away from the fact that the frames are authentic Louis Vuitton Millionaires.”

I’d never heard of anyone tricking out authentic sunglasses—but apparently Bernstein’s services are highly sought after in LaLa Land.  He’s customized pairs for a number of artists including Jay-Z, Gwen Stefani, Kanye, and Beyonce.

Roscoe’s Chicken & ROFLz!! I haven’t laughed this hard since like 30 minutes ago!! The absurdity of this dude’s predicaments keep filling my life w/entertainment.

From XXL:

The XXL Editors received this letter from Louis Vuitton concerning the May 2009 cover of Rick Ross.

Dear Editor:

We were dismayed to see the cover of the May 2009 issue of XXL Magazine, which features a photo of Rick Ross wearing a pair of sunglasses prominently featuring counterfeit Louis Vuitton trademarks. Because the photo has generated considerable confusion among your readers and Louis Vuitton customers among others, we feel it is important to clarify several points.

The first is that the sunglasses Mr. Ross is wearing were not made by Louis Vuitton, and in fact, are counterfeit. Louis Vuitton did not grant permission to Mr. Ross or to whoever did make the sunglasses to use our trademarks. The second is that no affiliation, sponsorship or association exists between Rick Ross or XXL and Louis Vuitton. The third is that counterfeiting is illegal.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to correct the confusion.

Sincerely,

Michael D. Pantalony, Esq.
Louis Vuitton Malletier

Well isn’t this awkward??

On Monday, May 4th, the real “Freeway” Ricky Ross will be released from prison after being sentenced to life in prison in 1996 for an attempted cocaine purchase from an undercover federal agent.

His early release can be chiefly credited to the late Pulitzer prize winning journalist Gary Webb’s acclaimed “Dark Alliance” articles that exposed the CIA’s involvement in the Iran-Contra scandal.

Through a series of appeals an early release has been granted, and come Monday a whole lotta hoodlums will be poppin bottles…but maybe not Officer Ricky.

Officer Ricky has denied lifting Prisoner Ricky’s persona, but Prisoner Ricky isn’t happy about the co-opting at all.  He told AllHipHop.com: “After seeing all the stuff that has been going on with the Correctional Officer (William Roberts) that stole my name, [it] makes me think back to a year and a half ago when we spoke…I tried to talk to him like a big brother and let him know to be you, and that he couldn’t be me.”

Prisoner Ricky will be very busy upon release; his upcoming ventures include a potential reality show, movie deal, and entry into the music business.

I’m just not looking forward to the confusion. It was bad enough we got two Vanessa Williams, but now two Rick Rosses?? Y’all tryna send me to an early grave.
